Medical Receptionist – Specialist Surgical Clinic Hampton, VIC | Permanent Part-Time – Potential Full-Time Opportunity We are seeking a professional, organised, and friendly Medical Receptionist to join our busy specialist practice, Dr Steven Edwards Foot & Ankle Medicine & Surgery , providing administrative and patient support for a Podiatric Surgeon. This role offers variety, responsibility, and the opportunity to work in a supportive team dedicated to delivering high-quality patient care. About the Role As the first point of contact for our patients, you will ensure a warm, professional, and efficient experience from their first enquiry through to post-operative care. You will manage a busy reception, coordinate appointments, liaise with hospitals and referrers, and assist with clinical and surgical administration. Key Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors with warmth and professionalism Manage incoming calls, emails, and patient enquiries Schedule and confirm appointments, theatre bookings, and follow-ups Process payments, health fund claims, and Medicare rebates Prepare patient files, correspondence, and surgical documentation Liaise with hospitals, referring doctors, and allied health professionals Maintain accurate patient records in our practice management system (PracSuite experience highly regarded) Support the surgeon and practice manager with daily administrative tasks Skills & Experience Previous experience in medical reception or healthcare administration (specialist or surgical preferred) Proficiency in medical practice software (PracSuite experience an advantage; training provided) Strong organisational and time management skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion at all times Professional presentation and a caring, patient-focused approach Why Join Us?
