About the role As a senior individual contributor, this role as Senior Case Manager is responsible for providing expertise, support and knowledge to the team and members who are supported by the wider Case Management team and act as the trustee delegate for approval of claim decisions and claim payments. Key Responsibilities: Provide end-to-end support and advocacy to members facing difficult times and who need to make TPD, IP, D, TI claims or early release payment claim; Provide expert case management for escalated complex or disputed claims Review & challenge insurer decisions and conduct thorough case review for declined claims Process claim payments for Insurance, Death and Terminal Illness cases; Compile and review 1st level internal audit documentation AND Act as the trustee delegate for approval of claim decisions and claim payments. Qualifications, Skills & Knowledge: 5 years life insurance claims experience, preferably within a customer-focused superannuation environment; Strong understanding of Total Permanent Disability, Income Protection, Terminal Illness claims. Detailed expertise knowledge of the claims and underwriting process & applicable insurance policies including legacy insurer; Ability to engage distressed members/ families in a professional and compassionate manner while maintaining objectivity; Ability to trouble shoot and manage complex cases; Strong communication and stakeholder management skills AND Strong organisational skills and ability to work under pressure.
