Troocoo are seeking a Principal Project Officer to engage across government and with the industry to stimulate the economy and create jobs by attracting and supporting private sector investment in Queensland, through the new Sovereign Industry Development Fund (SIDF). We want you to be a part of a team that is making a difference by leading industry development programs, aligned to the Department’s strategic plan. This includes initiatives that develop and accelerates the growth of Queensland’s defence, biofuels and biomedical industry sectors. You will be working across Queensland to coordinate the delivery of initiatives such as departmental programs to link industry and grow regional supply chains and productivity. Role duties: Demonstrated commercial acumen and a background in business development and/or investment facilitation outcomes Ability to research, analyse and interpret grant program data, current and emerging economic and industry development data Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven track record of effectively engaging stakeholders Advanced ability to interpret and analyse private sector investment proposal to draw conclusions and make recommendations to key decision makers Commitment to maintaining a high level of governance, probity and confidentiality Your responsibilities Prepare and coordinate input into assessment of the commercial and economic merits of private sector investment proposals and their alignment with the Sovereign Industry Develop Fund (SIDF). Apply commercial acumen and a strong understanding of economic development and private sector investment drivers to the assessment of applications to the SIDF. Engage with stakeholders to identify and/or assess investment opportunities. Build effective relationships with a network of stakeholders internally and externally to attract and facilitate high value investment in Queensland. Support the department's management in negotiations with key internal and external stakeholders to progress opportunities to increase high value investment in Queensland. Identify, research and analyse current and emerging economic and industry development trends impacting on business investment and assess implications for investment opportunities and economic outcomes. Prepare briefing notes, reports, correspondence in response to investment enquiries and proposals including the development of investment business cases Role requirements Travel away from your normal center of operations may be required from time to time.
