The Role As a Tax Accountant, you will play a key role in meeting the organisation’s core tax compliance obligations and strengthening tax governance across the business. Reporting to the Tax Manager, you’ll work within a small, high-performing tax team that manages all aspects of direct and indirect tax, while partnering closely with finance and operational teams across Australia and New Zealand. This role will see you delivering accurate and timely tax reporting, identifying opportunities to streamline and automate processes, and embedding robust controls to manage tax risk. Your responsibilities will include: Preparing and lodging returns, calculations, and journals for income tax, GST, FBT, payroll tax, stamp duty, and other applicable taxes Completing monthly tax calculations, journals, and reconciliations Conducting tax research and preparing supporting memoranda Maintaining and enhancing workpapers and reconciliations Partnering with business and finance teams to uplift controls and improve tax processes Supporting audits and tax authority reviews Monitoring legislative changes and assessing business impacts The Candidate CA/CPA qualified with at least 3 years’ tax experience, ideally in a chartered environment Strong technical knowledge across direct and indirect taxes Financial services or insurance industry experience advantageous Skilled in data analysis, process improvement, and automation Confident communicator who can build trusted relationships across the business Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment To learn more, please apply now or send your updated CV to josh@lansonpartners.com .
