Expressions of Interest CASUAL SPECIAL EVENTS ASSISTANTS Are you customer focused and interested to get involved in Council activities outside of your role and have capacity to work after hours, during evenings and weekends? Expressions of interest are being invited from staff currently employed by Council to be involved and work in some of our community focused activities. We are creating a pool of staff members who would like to contribute to assist with these events. If you live and breathe customer service and enjoy interacting with members of our inner-west community, you are most welcome to apply. Council intends to continue maintaining a pool of staff members who can be called upon to assist in these kinds of activities on a casual basis. Casual engagement will be in accordance to Clause 31 of the Local Government (State) Award 2023 (Multiple Employment). About the role Join the Creative Activations team to deliver festivals, events and community initiatives as part of Inner West Council’s major community events program! You will contribute to the active engagement of the local community in celebrations of place, culture and diversity to enhance the reputation of Inner West Council and promote our local government area as a dynamic and creative community. This role will also assist with the orderly management of Council events/activities, provide and distribute information, engage and advise members of the community while promoting Council in a positive way. This role may be required to assist with event tasks on-site, such as set up and pack downs. Remuneration $33.62 per hour 25% Casual Loading 12% Superannuation Some of the required skills, experience and qualifications - use this list instead 1. Demonstrated commitment to quality customer service 2. Knowledge of Council functions and services 3. Good engagement, communication and interpersonal skills, including a capacity to give and follow instructions 4. Capacity to perform a considerable amount of manual handling. (Basic training on manual handling is essential.) 5. Ability to work after‐hours during evenings and weekends 6. Understanding of requirements to successfully deliver an event and work in an event site build is desirable 7. Understanding or familiarity with traffic control procedures is desirable 8.
