Salary range 77,000 – 85,000p/a Full Time Position Cook - Malaysian We are looking for a Cook to join our busy Malaysian Restaurants situated Macquarie Park with an excellent working environment. This role will be fully responsible for their department and will report to the Director of the Company. Your Roles and Responsibilities include the following: Preparation of ingredients and cooking foods Ensure storing of food complies to food safety standards, labelling of all food in storage; Examining the restaurant’s food products to ensure it meets Company standards and quality as well as customers expectations; Ensure that all food and products are consistently prepared and served according to the restaurant’s recipes, portioning, cooking and serving standards. Regulate temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment; Portion food, placing it on plates, and adding gravies, sauces and garnishes; Adhere to company and department rules, policies and procedures; Prepare all required paperwork, including forms, reports and schedules in an organized and timely manner; Preparing food to meet certain dietary requirement by customers; Ensure that all equipment is kept clean and kept in excellent working condition through personal inspection and by following the restaurant’s preventative maintenance programs; Ensure that all products are ordered according to predetermined product specifications and received in correct unit count and condition and deliveries are performed in accordance with the restaurant’s receiving policies and procedures; Assist the management team in overseeing and ensuring that restaurant policies on employee performance appraisals are followed and completed on a timely basis; Assist in training kitchen personnel in cleanliness and sanitation practices; Responsible for maintaining appropriate cleaning schedules for kitchen floors, mats, walls, hoods, other equipment and food storage areas; Ordering and receiving goods from suppliers, ensure all receiving of goods protocol are met in accordance to Company policy; Ensure storing of food complies to food safety standards, labelling of all food in storage; and Assist in developing more efficient operational procedure; Ideal candidate for this role will need to possess the following Essential Skills: Minimum 3 years relevant experience in Asian kitchens (preferably Malaysian/Singapore/Indonesian cuisine); Possess a good attitude & a team player; Attention to detail and good problem solving skills; Strong understanding of south-east Asian traditional dishes, its ingredients, paste and sauces. Able to communicate in Bahasa Malaysia, Indonesia, Mandarin Chinese and English would be an advantage; Negotiate/dealing with supplier; Must have solid understand in food safety protocols and compliance; Able to monitor inventory; Assist in developing more efficient operational procedure; and Never afraid to take up challenges.
