Accounts Assistant – Transport Industry Location: Dandenong, VIC Type: Full-time (Part-time considered) About the Company Our client is a well-established transport business with over 11 years of successful operations. Based in Dandenong, the company operates with a fleet of 25 drivers and is known for its professionalism, reliability, and supportive team culture. About the Role We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounts Assistant to join the team. This varied role will suit someone with strong attention to detail, a willingness to learn, and the confidence to question discrepancies where needed. You will work closely with the business owner, taking over many of the day-to-day accounting and administrative duties he currently manages. This will free him to focus on supporting business growth, making your role vital to the company’s continued success. Key Responsibilities • Manage invoicing through MYOB • Organise and process truck driver run sheets (training provided) • Check and verify driver invoices, ensuring accurate billing of job times • Handle accounts payable and receivable • Manage the CitiLink account • Assist with client bookings and provide excellent customer service • Collect and organise mail and client-delivered invoices (company car available if required) • Support with weekly payroll (in future) • Perform general administration duties as required About You • Prior experience with MYOB and accounts functions (preferred) • A quick learner with the ability to pick up industry knowledge (locations, truck types, job codes, etc.) • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy • Confident in questioning discrepancies and ensuring compliance • Mature-minded with a professional and discreet approach to handling information • Excellent organisational and communication skills • Car licence essential; a vehicle can be provided for work-related errands Why Join? • Step into a pivotal role, taking over core responsibilities directly from the business owner • Be part of a stable business with 11 years of success and a supportive team environment • Contribute to the company’s future growth and direction by freeing up the owner to focus on expansion • Full-time Monday to Friday role (part-time flexibility may be considered) • Gain exposure to the transport industry and develop your skills in a varied, hands-on position How to Apply If you’re ready to be part of a team that values both its clients and employees, please submit your application today.
