You will be an integral part of ensuring the smooth, efficient, and sustainable operation of their broadacre cropping enterprise. Key Responsibilities Mechanical & Technical Duties Inspect, maintain, diagnose, and repair farm machinery, vehicles, and mechanical equipment. Undertake preventive maintenance and scheduled servicing to minimise downtime. Fabricate, modify, and fit mechanical parts for agricultural plant and equipment. Operate and maintain advanced agricultural machinery and precision farming technology. Crop & Farm Management Oversee day-to-day broadacre cropping activities including seeding, spraying, irrigation, and harvesting. Monitor crop growth, soil health, and pest management, implementing best practice agronomy. Coordinate and supervise seasonal workers and contractors during peak operations. Manage supply chain requirements for seed, fertiliser, and other farm inputs. Maintenance Planning Develop and implement maintenance schedules for machinery, infrastructure, and irrigation systems. Maintain accurate service logs, machinery records, and asset registers. Source parts, liaise with suppliers, and manage inventory of maintenance materials. Agricultural Technical Support Conduct field trials, data collection, and analysis to improve yield and efficiency. Implement sustainable farming practices and monitor environmental impact. Assist in the adoption of new technologies, including GPS and variable rate applications. Skills & Qualifications Essential: Trade qualification or extensive experience in mechanical maintenance and repair. Proven experience in broadacre cropping operations. Knowledge of modern agricultural machinery and precision farming systems. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently. Excellent organisational skills for planning and prioritising maintenance and farm operations. Desirable: Certificate/Diploma in Agriculture, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. Experience in team supervision and farm business management. Familiarity with maintenance management systems and agricultural software. Employment Conditions Salary: $76,000 $96,000 p.a.
