About Your Opportunity Reporting to our Manager Commercial & Contract Manager , this role leads strategic commercial oversight for Seqwater’s Infrastructure Planning and Capital Delivery contracts, with a focus on the high-value Sustaining Capital portfolio. It involves managing commercial requests, allocating tasks across the team, and ensuring efficient, high-quality delivery aligned with long-term asset performance and project goals. Key responsibilities Strategic Commercial Oversight – IPCD Contracts: Accountable for providing strategic commercial oversight across all phases of IPCD contracts from planning and design through to execution ensuring alignment with IPCD objectives and project goals. This role is specifically primarily focused on contracts delivered under the Sustaining Capital portfolio valued in the hundreds of millions per annum, requiring a deep understanding of commercial frameworks that support long-term asset performance and value. In parallel, manage incoming commercial requests and allocate tasks across the team based on expertise, workload, and project priorities, ensuring efficient delivery, balanced resourcing, and consistently high-quality outcomes. Team Leadership and Commercial Risk Accountability: Accountable for leading the team in monitoring project budgets, forecasts, and overall financial performance across IPCD Sustaining Capital contracts. You will guide the team in proactively identifying and mitigating commercial risks ensuring full compliance with contractual obligations and regulatory requirements. Organizational Interface: This role will operate within a matrix-style operating model, collaborating across the projects as the project teams will be led by a core project delivery team. Noting Contract Managers and Contract administrators form integral part of the team you manage. Procurement Planning and execution: Develop and execute strategic procurement plans with the Commercial team with the focus on developing and implementing competitive commercial frameworks, governance and assurance processes that guide project development and delivery. Contract Negotiations: Collaborate with the Commercial team for contract negotiations, ensuring adherence to legal and commercial standards for the benefit of the project. IPCD Financial Oversight and Reporting: Manage and enhance the accuracy of monthly IPCD commercial performance reporting to support informed decision-making by maintaining suitable systems and controls for financial management. Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, and subcontractors, to drive project success. Data Management: Supervise the management and updating of costs and contract-related data into relevant databases and systems, ensuring data integrity and accessibility for reporting and analysis About you To be successful in this role, you will possess: Degree in Business, Law, or a related engineering discipline, with at least 10 years’ experience in commercial agreements within major infrastructure delivery. Proven background in contracts or commercial management in the infrastructure or construction sectors. Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a deep understanding of commercial frameworks. This position will be offered as an individual TFR package with an attractive salary and is a permanent full-time role. Appointment to this role is subject to the provision of a national police check and may be subject to other medical/character requirements.
