The Opportunity The Manager, Renewable Energy Zones (REZ) will play a pivotal role in shaping Victoria's clean energy future — leading integration, place-based governance, and providing hands-on advisory support for the planning and delivery of our Renewable Energy Zones. As the bridge between metropolitan teams and REZ communities, you'll ensure local voices, priorities, and opportunities are front and centre in government decision-making. You'll work closely with councils, industry, community groups, and Traditional Owners, fostering collaboration across sectors and helping to overcome regional challenges so our REZs can thrive. This is a role for someone who thrives on connection, problem-solving, and making a tangible difference in regional Victoria's energy transformation. Regular travel to regional REZ locations maybe required. We are hiring for multiple REZ Managers across Regional Victoria based in any of these regions: West - The role can be located in Ballarat, Warrnambool, Hamilton, Portland or surrounding areas. Occasional overnight travel maybe required. Northwest - The role can be located in Bendigo, Horsham, Ararat, Mildura, or surrounding areas. Occasional overnight travel maybe required. Gippsland - The role can be located across Gippsland. Occasional overnight travel maybe required. What you will deliver Act as a primary government contact for regional stakeholders in a REZ location, fostering trusted relationships with local councils, Traditional Owners, industry, and community groups Coordinate regional governance activities, including community reference groups and round-tables information sessions, workshops, and forums to share REZ updates Support regional engagement activities, including information sessions, workshops, and forums to share REZ updates and gather local input Support VicGrid's place-based REZ Access and Connections, First Peoples, Delivery, Compliance and Engagement activities where required Provide authoritative advice to regional stakeholders on REZ objectives, processes, timelines, and potential local benefits What you will bring An appropriate tertiary qualification in regional development, engagement, business management, engineering, or an energy-related field is desirable Demonstrated experience in regional engagement, place-based project delivery in complex environments Knowledge of issues and pathways to the development of Renewable Energy Zones or similar infrastructure programs What we offer you Career advancement and professional development opportunities Mental health and wellbeing offerings through our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Annual salary increases and incremental performance-based payments Annual leave loading of 17.5% payment on top of your base salary when you take annual leave Other relevant information Preferred candidates will be required to undertake pre-employment screening, including a Declaration and Consent form and a National Police Check To be eligible for appointment to this role, applicants will possess corresponding work rights for the advertised employment period How to Apply This is a fixed term position available on a two year fixed term contract.
