The City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder is looking for a Supervisor Turf Management to join our dynamic team and help ensure the success of our premier sporting venues. As the Supervisor Turf Management, you will play a key role in the maintenance, operation, and management of our turf assets. You’ll be responsible for overseeing daily operations, coordinating events, managing facility staff, and ensuring the turf is in top condition for all community groups. Duties Key responsibilities include: Facility Management: Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of turf assets, ensuring they meet the highest standards of safety and functionality. Irrigation Control: Oversee the delivery of irrigation to all green assets and assist with Best Practice for continued Water Wise accreditation Event Coordination: Support the planning and execution of sporting events, tournaments, and community activities held all City turf venues. Staff Supervision: Lead and manage a team of ground staff and casual workers, providing training and support to maintain an efficient, safe working environment. Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with community groups, local sports clubs, event organizers, and other stakeholders to provide a positive experience and ensure the smooth running of events. Compliance & Safety: Ensure all facilities comply with relevant health, safety, and regulatory standards, maintaining a safe environment for players, staff, and the public. Who we are Looking for: To be considered for this position, you will need: Proven experience in turf management, ideally within the sports or recreation sector. Focus on minimising waste and delivering optimum irrigation to all city assets. Strong leadership and organisational skills, with the ability to manage a team effectively. Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach. A hands-on, proactive attitude with a keen eye for detail. A passion for sport and community development. Relevant qualifications or certifications in sports turf management and or irrigation or proven experience within this field would be highly regarded.
