About the Role This full-time position is part of an innovative education and mental health program supporting young people aged 15-21 who are disengaged from education or employment and managing mental health concerns. The program aims to stabilise mental health, promote wellbeing, and re-engage students with learning pathways of their choice. As the Psychologist within the City Hub team (servicing City and South Melbourne campuses), you'll provide assessments, counselling, and therapeutic support to students. Working closely with classroom teams, wellbeing staff, families/carers, and external providers, you will help design and implement tailored interventions and support plans that make a real impact. You will be part of a passionate, supportive team that values autonomy, collaboration, and creativity in service delivery. Outreach may be required based on student needs, and you'll have the flexibility to shape how support is delivered. Key Responsibilities Re-engage youths back into an education setting Provide individual and group counselling to students with a range of mental health and emotional issues Complete psychological assessments and develop tailored intervention plans Build trust with young people using flexible, youth-appropriate approaches Collaborate with internal staff, families/carers, and external professionals to ensure coordinated care Respond to critical incidents and provide crisis support when necessary Contribute to the development of school-wide wellbeing initiatives and staff capacity building Maintain accurate and confidential client records in line with professional and ethical standards About You You're a psychologist who thrives in a dynamic and youth-centred environment. You're driven to break cycles of disadvantage/disengagement and are eager to contribute to a holistic, trauma-informed, and education-based model of care. Essential Bachelor of Psychology or equivalent (postgraduate qualifications desirable) Passionate about working with youths, enthusiastic/engaging attitude Current registration with AHPRA Strong understanding of adolescent development and mental health disorders Demonstrated experience in counselling and delivering wellbeing programs Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Able to work autonomously and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary setting Valid Working with Children Check (Employee), Police Check, and Australian work rights Current Victorian Driver's License Desirable Experience with psychoeducational assessment tools and report writing Experience supporting young people with co-morbidities and complex needs Ability to perform ASD/ADHD assessments What's in it for you?
