Undercover Artist Festival returns in 2025 and presents its fifth biennial Festival, celebrating 10 Years of UAF with a bold and brilliant program, ready to Push it! - Pushing boundaries, pushing buttons, and pushing for change. Be ready for incredible days of theatre, dance, comedy, music, poetry and more, Undercover Artist Festival is programmed during Brisbane Festival at Queensland Theatre, 20 September and 22-27 September 2025. We are seeking incredible like-minded individuals looking to gain experience in the performing arts sector across a range of volunteer roles, such as production, front of house, administration, and event logistics. Volunteer Roles Production volunteers Our Production Volunteers are behind the scenes, happy to move about and lift stage equipment with a smile. These volunteers will be supporting artists and technicians during bump-in (preparation) and bump-out (packing up). If you are happy to be on your feet and lift light objects under supervision, love to help and keen to see the inner workings of a performance - before the audience enter the theatre - we would love to hear from you! Front of House volunteers Our Front of House volunteers are confident, chatty, and happy to direct patrons. They’re our all-rounders, happy to help wherever needed. These volunteers will float around the foyer at Queensland Theatre, serving as points of contact for our patrons and guests. They will assist in ushering audiences to their designated theatres, and offering helpful guidance whenever needed. They may assist with our Opening Night goodie bags (and join the party, too!). If you love to help people and are keen to be a warm, friendly face for Undercover Artist Festival, we would love to hear from you! The volunteer in this role needs to know where and how to direct patrons to accessible materials. Training provided. Applications from Auslan fluent volunteers are strongly encouraged. Volunteer Requirements Uniform : Volunteers receive an Undercover Artist Festival t-shirt and lanyard. Enclosed shoes, and blue or black pants or skirts are to be worn (jeans are welcome). The Festival's colours are blue and black - don't be shy about embracing them! Age: Volunteers must be 18 at time of Festival. E.g. If you are currently 17 but will be 18 by Festival (15 September 2025) please still apply. Volunteer session times: Volunteer sessions are a maximum of three hours, spread over a week during September 2025. Production volunteers are required to be available 15th September or 20th of September as well as from the 22nd to the 27th of September. All volunteer session times and dates are flexible based on individuals’ availability. What’s in it for you? Exclusive merch!
