Cardijn College Galilee in Aldinga enrols students from Reception to Year 9, providing a nurturing environment with an emphasis on ecological awareness and a personalised sense of belonging. The WHS, Risk and Compliance Lead works under broad direction to deliver a professional service and is responsible for shaping and leading the development and maintenance of a best practice safety, risk and compliance culture. The WHS, Risk and Compliance Lead seeks professional advice as appropriate and forms professional partnerships to continuously improve practices within the school. The Key Responsibilities include: Manage the WHS and Return to Work (RTW) function across multiple campuses, including a technical college with elevated safety risks, ensuring tailored risk management approaches for diverse learning and work environments whilst ensuring legislative and policy requirements are effectively met. Develop and maintain an online WHS induction process and checklist and ensure that all staff, contractors, and volunteers, are appropriately inducted to enable safe use of designated places, materials and equipment within the school. Undertake WHS evacuations, risk assessments, audits, and inspections on a regular basis, and undertake investigation of hazards, incidents, injuries or near misses and ensure corrective action appropriate to the situation occurs. Review, enhance and maintain the design and implementation of the school’s Risk Management framework to create and protect value within the school. Monitor the school’s ongoing compliance with all relevant Commonwealth and State legislative and regulatory requirements and act accordingly to maintain compliance.
