The Opportunity This is a rare opportunity for a SOC Analyst ready to step into leadership and make a tangible impact. You’ll take the lead on cyber operations during a period of transformation, playing a key role in a SOC uplift and secure cloud migration while mentoring junior analysts and guiding best practice. You’ll work alongside seasoned professionals in a collaborative, purpose-driven team securing both classified and unclassified networks. With a clear path to SOC Manager level roles, this role blends hands-on technical work with strategic oversight, ideal if you're looking to grow your career while contributing to national security in a mission critical setting. The Role As the SOC Analyst, you will: Oversee day-to-day SOC operations and ensure timely threat detection and response Lead and mentor junior analysts, providing technical guidance and support Drive security uplift through new tools, systems, and procedures Lead incident response, investigations, and forensic analysis Maintain SOC tools and infrastructure, including SIEM and vulnerability management platforms Contribute to cyber policy development and engage with key stakeholders Create and maintain internal SOPs and documentation for knowledge sharing The Ideal Person You will have 3 – 5 years of experience in an SOC environment with a strong knowledge of security frameworks and incident response protocols. Ideally, you will have both an ICT and Cyber background in defence settings, secured environments or a federal government agency with classified systems. You will have hands-on experience with SIEMs (Elastic preferred) and vulnerability management platforms (Tenable Nessus preferred) with proficiency in Windows and Linux environments. Either you will be a leader with the ability to mentor and develop junior team members, or someone who is keen to upskill in a leadership role. A passion for national security and a collaborative approach to problem solving will set you up for success in this role. You must be an Australian citizen and an active NV1 security clearance will be highly regarded. Salary $110k - $121k 13.5% Super Additionally, you will receive 6 weeks annual leave and free parking.
