Job Title Medic - Casual Job Roster Casual site based Job Summary Provide medical attention to employees on site and assist on issues related to occupational health Job Statement The Opportunity Provide emergency and non-emergency assistance and medical care to the operations. Assist in managing the sites processes in relation to medical emergency preparedness through the regular review and updating of emergency procedures and response systems. Manage the poisons permit and liaise with the Poisons Permit Doctor, maintaining effective levels of medical stock including all scheduled drugs up to S8. Follow the requirements of the WA Department of Health requirements, poisons permit, medical centre guidelines and treatment guidelines. Support and assist in the management of return-to-work programs. Review of pre-employment medicals in accordance with company requirements. Facilitate on site fitness to work assessments including Drug and Alcohol screening and hydration testing. Ensure all administration functions and injury management data recording functions and tasks associated with the position are undertaken and completed in a timely and efficient manner. Contribute to effective internal and external medical and injury reporting. Develop and deliver health promotions and medical communications to site. Maintain equipment and stock levels related to the efficient operation of the site medical centre. Maintain emergency medical vehicles, equipment, facilities and appliances in state of readiness and operability in accordance with manufacturers specifications, WADOH and company requirements. Maintain the Medical Centre Guideline by identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and monitoring that it reflects current work practices, procedures and processes. Provide relevant medical training to members of the Emergency Response Team (ERT). Participate in emergency response training, when appropriate, in order to understand the roles fulfilled during emergency response. What you can expect from us A caring and supportive culture. We would love to hear from you if you have : Bachelor of Science (Nursing), AHPRA Registered (unconditional). Minimum 2 years nursing experience with Acute/ Emergency Care qualifications directly related to acute/emergency care (preferable rural/ remote). Nationally recognised unit of competency – Collect Specimens for Drugs of Abuse Testing. Understanding and ability to develop and implement workers' compensation rehabilitation and return to work programs and plans according to legal requirements. Knowledge of relevant RTW, WHS, Privacy and Equal Opportunity legislation, rights and obligations. The ability to work autonomously, use initiative and pre-empt needs. The ability to effectively communicate and influence at all levels of the organisation. Current ‘C’ Class Western Australian Drivers Licence. Demonstrated computer literacy (MS Office, Pronto, Health and safety systems etc).
