This is a fantastic opportunity for an Applied ML Engineer to join a well-funded Creative Tech start-up that’s already capturing the attention of millions. Our partner is a pioneering MusicTech company, who are revolutionising the way people create and interact with music through AI-driven technology. Their platform is already a hit, and they’re now looking for a deep learning focussed professional to contribute to a Gen AI music tool that will redefine the industry. Location: Sydney or Melbourne (Fully Remote) What You Will Do: Design and implement machine learning solutions aligned with product and user needs. Apply and fine-tune foundation models for tasks such as audio analysis, generation, and automation. Develop and maintain scalable ML infrastructure using AWS . Build production-grade systems and APIs using Python and PyTorch . Construct reliable pipelines for unstructured data, especially audio. Leverage pre-trained models and open-source tools efficiently where appropriate. Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering teams to integrate ML features into live systems. Contribute to testing strategies (QA, A/B, robustness testing) for models in production. What You Will Bring: 3-5 years of experience in Data Science / ML Engineering, particularly around on AWS and Python. Solid experience in machine learning, particularly applied and production-focused projects. Strong software engineering fundamentals. Hands-on experience with PyTorch and foundation model architectures (e.g. transformers, diffusion models, LLMs). Ability to work with and preprocess unstructured data (experience in music/audio domains is a plus). A practical mindset: you know when to use existing tools vs. build new ones. Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently in a remote-first team.
