About the role: As Category Analyst, you will support the commercial strategy and planning process for your assigned brands and categories, working closely with the Commercial Strategy & Planning Managers and Customer Experience teams in the development of the customer category strategy. Main Responsibilities: Analysis to enable the development and delivery of the commercial strategy and plan (account standards, strategic objectives) and customer category strategy in conjunction with the Sales and Marketing teams Generating insights to share with the Commercial Strategy & Planning Managers and brand teams to input into the gate process and launch planning for NPD; including the creation of inspirational customer sell stories for our NPD which are aligned with customer priorities and strategy Alongside the Commercial Strategy & Planning Manager, partner with our Sales Team to develop analysis and insights to create compelling range reviews and Joint Business Plans (JBP) to drive improvement for Opella brands in store Support the macro diagnostic of our performance in the trade (customers – financial, in-market and executional performance) and from this, the development and delivery of the Commercial Strategy & Plan (Account Standards, Strategic Objectives, OGSM) Support the coordination of the Annual Sales Planning Process (translation of brand plans as well as integration of sales and revenue management initiatives into stretching but achievable Commercial Plans) Support the team to deliver Commercial Plans (Objectives, Goals, Initiatives, Targets down to channel and strategic customer level), track readiness to deliver on these targets, and measure progress and performance with respect to the plans About You Qualifications: Degree qualified in Business Administration, Marketing, Commerce or similar relevant field Experience: Minimum 1-2 years FMCG Industry experience in a previous Category, Trade Marketing, Sales or Marketing role OR within a data insights organisation such as Nielsen etc. Experience working with data sources such as IRI/Nielsen/IQVIA/Quantium/ Circana preferred Experienced in creating insights across various data sets and visualising data/insights tailored to different audiences – skilled in story telling Skills: Commercial and Financial acumen with advanced analytical skills – able to translate data and insights into actions and strategies Proven ability to navigate complex situations and challenge the status quo with a can-do attitude Self-reliant, decisive and resilient and able to respond and adapt to a fast moving, swiftly changing environment Proven willingness to take ownership, accept accountability for results, deliver, share success and develop high levels of performance within the team Workload planning and task prioritisation/time management Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Team-orientated and cross-functional relationship management skills Why us?
