We are now looking for a creative and experienced Chef to lead the kitchen with a commitment to seasonal produce, mindful preparation, and nutritional integrity. Responsibilities include: Plan, coordinate, and oversee the daily preparation of breakfast, lunch, and specialty dishes featured of nourishing, wholefood meals Oversee all cooking processes to ensure every plate served meets our high standards of presentation, flavour, and nutritional integrity, reflecting our commitment to food that supports a healthy lifestyle. Select ingredients and monitor food inventory to maintain freshness, quality, and compliance with food safety standards. Adjust recipes as needed to accommodate seasonal availability, dietary preferences (e.g. gluten-free, vegan, paleo), and customer feedback, always with an eye toward maximising the health benefits and natural flavours of each dish. Oversee and train kitchen assistants and support staff to ensure smooth, efficient, and safe kitchen operations. Ensure all food handling and preparation activities comply with hygiene regulations and workplace safety standards. Work collaboratively with café management to refine the evolving seasonal menu, co-creating dishes that inspire guests to explore the origins and benefits of their food Minimise food waste and support cost-effective kitchen practices in a fast-paced café environment. Qualifications: Relevant qualification At least 1 year of experience Solid understanding of food preparation, safety, and hygiene best practices Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively under pressure Strong time management and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment Positive attitude, attention to detail, and a passion for delivering quality food Capable of working independently and contributing to a supportive team culture Work as a team. Salary: The role offers a remuneration package ranging from $75,000 - $85,000, plus superannuation for a 38-hour work week.
