We are seeking a committed and experienced Asset Officer to join our team and make a tangible impact through the delivery of high-quality tenancy and property management services. As the Asset Officer you will play a key role in maintaining the quality, safety, and functionality of our housing portfolio. Working closely with the Operations Manager, you will ensure our properties are well maintained, compliant with legislative requirements, and meet the needs of our tenants. This role is a blend of office-based coordination and hands-on site work. You will be responsible for scheduling and overseeing reactive and planned maintenance, carrying out property inspections, and ensuring works are completed to a high standard within agreed timeframes and budgets. You will engage with tenants to explain maintenance processes, respond to asset-related queries, and provide a positive customer service experience. Your key responsibilities will be to: Identify our tenant’s maintenance needs, determine the priority, and communicate expectations to all parties. Provide supervision and coordination of site contractors. Undertake building/property maintenance tasks including inspections, scoping, quality audits as necessary and in a timely manner. Such tasks may be routine or planned and/or reactive. Ensuring maintenance, invoicing and reporting are regularly completed and deadlines achieved. Ensure maintenance work undertaken is compliant with corporate standards, relevant legislation, Australian standards and Workplace Health and Safety. Contribute to the development and implementation of service improvements and program outcomes reporting Requirements for Success Experience in property maintenance or trade knowledge/experience involving maintenance Experience in contractor and stakeholder management Knowledge & application of relevant legislation requirements, codes & standards that relate to buildings, workplace health and safety Experience in managing site maintenance budgets, work orders and requisitions. Previous experience working on a CMMS (Computerised maintenance management system) , MS Office programs including Excel Ability to work cooperatively with tenants and within a community. Ability to complete property site inspection visits and assess maintenance works for compliance against quality expectations and specifications Current drivers’ licence and valid working with children check Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, referee checks, and WWCC.
