About the Role EnerMech is seeking a qualified Electrical Engineering Technician to support electrical engineering functions across our oil & gas and industrial projects. The successful candidate will assist in design, testing, installation, and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment, contributing to the delivery of safe, efficient and high-quality project outcomes. Key Responsibilities Contribute to the preparation and layout of electrical systems and components under the direction of qualified electrical engineers Assist in creating and updating technical drawings, schematics, and plans for electrical installations using CAD or other drafting tools. Carry out routine installation, testing, and calibration of electrical equipment and systems in accordance with Australian Standards and site procedures. Undertake basic fault-finding and perform necessary maintenance or repairs as directed, ensuring compliance with relevant safety and operational guidelines. Perform field-based inspections and standardised tests on electrical components to verify compliance and operational performance. Record and document on-site modifications by providing red-line mark-ups and updates to electrical drawings for review. Assist with the assembly and installation of electrical control and protection devices such as relays, meters, and switchgear. Contribute to the estimation of materials and labour required for project scopes. Support the development and review of scopes of work, work packs, QA/QC documents, and HSEQ plans. Perform quality checks on project outputs and support third-party inspections where needed. Attend site toolbox meetings and adhere to WHS standards and company policies. Assist in preparation of ITPs, ITCs, ITRs, and other project documentation as directed. Collaborate with clients and subcontractors to ensure design and implementation aligns with project specifications. Requirements Essential Criteria Minimum AQF Certificate IV or Diploma level qualification in Electrical Engineering or related discipline Minimum of 3 years' experience in electrical construction or project support in oil & gas, infrastructure, or utilities sector Familiarity with testing and calibration procedures for electrical installations. High level of technical, analytical and diagnosis, problem solving and reporting skills Experience in Construction, Completion and Punch List Management Understanding of QA/QC documentation such as ITPs, ITRs, CWMS, and NCRs Knowledge of safety legislation, policy, processes and practices for engineering projects Construction White Card Working at Height, Confined Space Desirable Experience with protection relay panels, metering and industrial electrical installations. Familiarity with QA/QC procedures and documentation practices. Previous exposure to Envision, CWMS, and client design reviews. Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and CAD software for drawing preparation and data documentation.
