The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (Cth) (CDPP) is seeking highly capable and skilled professionals to join the Legal Capability and Performance (LCP) practice group as an Assistant Manager, Legal Support Services who works closely with the National Manager, Legal Support Services and Branch Head, Legal Capability and Performance practice group. This role supports CDPP to fulfil its purpose through the delivery of a broad range of support services to the legal practice groups. In this role, you will Provide high level advice and support to the national management team; Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring that services meet the evolving operational needs of the legal practice groups; Play a key role in supporting the implementation of business improvement initiatives and projects, including the enhancement of digital litigation capability as part of the CDPP's broader digital transformation agenda; Manage a dispersed team (across states and territories) in a dynamic operating environment; Operate with broad direction to identify areas of improvement, manage workflow across multiple jurisdictions and provide a high level of quality assurance in delivering a range of contemporary services that are efficient and streamlined; Facilitate cooperation with other relevant business areas and build team capability by providing coaching and feedback to team members. This includes communicating strategic direction, using data and evidence driven approaches for improvement, establishing work priorities, setting expectations, and managing talent and underperformance; and Undertake other related activities as directed. While the positions will be based in Brisbane, Melbourne or Sydney, the CDPP may consider requests to work from other CDPP offices. The key duties of the position include In addition to meeting the Integrated Leadership System profile of the Executive Level 1 , primary outcomes and accountabilities will include: Leading a large and dispersed team to deliver efficient and contemporary support services for the legal practice groups and ensuring quality outcomes; Providing expert subject matter advice and guidance on service catalogue development, policy, systems and process improvements to management; Contributing to the CDPP's digital transformation agenda, including generating new ideas, leading the implementation of change and broader business improvement strategies; Making and communicating balanced decisions using professional judgement and evaluating risk in the context of a complex and changing operating environment; Working with a focus on research, analysis and judgement to manage a range of complex issues and develop, review, and implement policies and procedures; Developing and managing internal and external stakeholder relationships, engaging with relevant business areas to identify opportunities, achieve outcomes and facilitate cooperation to meet service delivery requirements; Providing strategic direction to work areas, including monitoring workflows, progress and team performance to deliver quality outcomes; Driving a culture of maintaining data integrity; Monitoring, reviewing and evaluating team and individual performance, providing coaching, regular feedback and conflict resolution to promote a positive team-work culture; and Collaborating and contributing to broader CDPP and APS objectives.
