Applicants must have at least 2 years of Deckhand/Fishing Hand experience with logbook sign off. A First Aid Certificate is also required. To be successful, candidates must also be: Physically fit and able to work in all weather conditions. Able to work long and irregular hours at sea. A team player with good communication skills. Able to follow instructions. Duties and responsibilities include: Assist with setting, hauling, and repairing gear. Handle, sort, clean and store catch to quality standards. Maintain deck equipment and fishing areas in clean and safe condition. Operate and maintain deck machinery and safety equipment. Assist with docking and mooring and anchorage operations. Follow all maritime safety and fishing regulations. Perform general vessel maintenance and repairs as required. Work Environment: Predominantly outdoors, working aboard vessels at sea in varying weather and sea conditions. Physically demanding work involving lifting, pulling, and operating heavy gear. Shifts may involve long hours, early mornings, nights, weekends, and extended periods away from shore. Exposure to saltwater, wind, and rough seas.
