Opportunity knocks for an experienced Financial Planning and Analysis Lead, to work on a landmark APAC 'mega project', and at the greenfield stage. Offering the rare opportunity to be involved prior to production, and to 'own' all things Financial Planning and Analysis. Working on an expat FIFO basis, from any global, point of hire I am particularly interested to hear from experienced Financial Planning and Analysis specialists,who have demonstrable experience in the following: Purpose: The Financial Planning and Analysis Lead (FP&A) is a senior position within the Finance Team, accountable for analyzing, tracking and controlling costs associated with the Project and subsequent operation, providing insights to improve cost-efficiency and informed decision-making, collaborating with other departments to develop cost standards and assist in budgeting and forecasting. Key Duties & Responsibilities: Take on a key leadership role within the FP&A function for the project. Develop and execute the annual budgeting and forecasting cycle. Oversee financial performance management, including monthly management accounting and reporting, variance analysis, and identification of risks and opportunities. Work closely with Project Controls and the EPCM to conduct variance analysis between actual costs and the capital estimate to identify discrepancies and their underlying causes, recommending corrective actions to address variances. Provide strategic financial guidance to the Project Leadership Team, supporting decision-making through scenario analysis, business case evaluations, and performance insights. Manage, mentor, and develop the site finance team, fostering a culture of high performance, continuous improvement, and professional growth. Present financial insights and strategic recommendations to senior management and joint venture partners. Drive continuous improvement initiatives in financial planning processes, systems, and tools to enhance operational efficiency and reporting quality. Promote a culture of financial discipline and cost consciousness across the organization. Lead special projects and financial initiatives, including financial modelling for new business cases, investment appraisals, scenario analysis and long-term planning. Analyze and monitor project and operational costs, including direct and indirect expenses, labor costs, material costs, and overheads. Ensure project costs are accurately capturing in the underlying ERP system (SAP). Actively contribute to the region’s ‘Journey to Zero’. Role model high standards of professional behavior and ethics, in accordance with our clients DNA. Undertake and delivery projects and ad hoc work / assignments as required by the business. Qualifications and Experience : Bachelor of Science or higher in Engineering, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or another related field. Demonstrated software proficiency with a range of applications such as Microsoft Office Suite, SAP, etc. At least five (5) years’ experience working with large projects and / or operations (mining, oil and gas or similar).
