About The Role We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Library Services – Senior School to lead the strategic direction and daily operations of our Senior School Library. This role is integral to fostering a vibrant, inclusive and resource-rich environment that supports academic excellence, digital literacy, and a lifelong love of reading. This is a full-time position commencing in Term 1, 2026, with a teaching load included, replacing a long-service, respected staff member who is retiring. Some key responsibilities of the role include: • Lead the administration and daily operations of the Senior School Library, including systems, budgets, staff, and digital resources. • Collaborate with teaching staff to integrate information literacy and research skills into the curriculum. • Curate and manage a diverse and engaging collection of print and digital resources. • Promote reading for pleasure and academic success through engaging programs and events. • Supervise and mentor library staff and volunteers. • Coordinate author visits, Book Week celebrations, and library promotions. • Provide reference and reader guidance services to students and staff. • Model exemplary teaching practices and support curriculum planning. • Maintain professional networks and stay current with developments in education and library services. About You • Tertiary qualifications appropriate to Teaching and qualifications relevant to Library and Information Services or Teacher Librarian • Current Queensland teacher registration. • Experience teaching Senior School students. • Strong knowledge of digital tools, online databases, and library systems (e.g., Oliver). • Demonstrated leadership, organisational, and communication skills. • A collaborative mindset and commitment to student wellbeing and safety.
