The Head of Cloud is a new and exciting key leadership position responsible for the strategic direction, design, and operational excellence of St Vincent's enterprise cloud platforms and hybrid infrastructure services. Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, this role leads the transformation of St Vincent's IT infrastructure, leveraging public cloud environments (primarily Microsoft Azure) to enhance agility, scalability, security, and cost-effectiveness. You will build and lead a high-performing team of cloud specialists, driving innovation and best practices across the organisation. This role will have a voice and real impact in a strategic whole of business technology implementation and modernisation. This is a Permanent Full-Time position based in any of our Group Head Offices in Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne on a hybrid working arrangement - 3 days a week in office and 2 days working from home. In this role, there will be a requirement to work on-call or after hours as needed and travel may be required. Key responsibilities of the role: Develop and execute St Vincent's cloud strategy and roadmap in alignment with the organisation's digital strategy and business objectives, including the design, implementation, and management of scalable, secure, and resilient cloud and hybrid environments, primarily within Microsoft Azure Drive the adoption of cloud-native architectures, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and DevOps principles to automate deployments and operations Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing, multidisciplinary team of cloud specialists, including Cloud Engineers, Automation/DevOps Engineers, Cloud Security Specialists, and Cloud Architects Manage the cloud services budget, optimising cloud spend and ensuring cost-effective utilisation of resources Establish robust governance frameworks, standards, and policies for cloud operations, security, and compliance with regulations such as ISO27001, SOCI, and Essential Eight Act as an Incident Management Lead (IML) during rostered periods to coordinate responses to major cloud disruptions Ensure the 24/7 availability, performance, and incident readiness for Tier 0 cloud-hosted services, particularly those supporting life-critical systems Things that work for us: Extensive experience in a senior leadership role focused on cloud strategy, architecture, and operations in a large, complex organisation Deep expertise in Microsoft Azure cloud services, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS models Proven track record of successfully leading major cloud migration and transformation initiatives Strong understanding of cloud security best practices, governance, and compliance frameworks Demonstrated ability to build, lead, and develop high-performing technical teams Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience and relevant cloud certifications (e.g., Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert) Things that work for you: Ability to visibly see your impact on the business and its service Competitive salary packaging options Discounted private health insurance Employee Assistance Program for staff and their families Access to the Fitness Passport (FP) At St Vincent's we value inclusivity and diversity and acknowledge the importance of creating a work environment that is welcoming, safe, fair and impartial and invites people from all backgrounds to join us.
