Job Description About the Opportunity We are seeking an experienced and visionary Head of Biodiversity and Habitats to join our Natural Ecosystems team on a fixed-term basis. In this role, you will lead the design and delivery of innovative projects focused on ocean biodiversity and habitat conservation. You will play a pivotal role in driving strategic outcomes, managing high-impact projects, fostering key partnerships, and championing science-led, policy-informed approaches to marine conservation. Key responsibilities include: Leading and mentoring a high-performing team to achieve project milestones and organisational impact. Overseeing the planning, execution, and monitoring of all biodiversity and habitat initiatives, ensuring delivery within scope, time and budget. Building and maintaining collaborative relationships with partners, government agencies, academic institutions, and other stakeholders. Representing Minderoo at all levels internally and externally at events and conferences, both global and national. Identifying and influencing policy change, working with stakeholders at local, national and international levels to promote sustainable ocean governance. Staying at the forefront of research and policy developments in ocean biodiversity and habitat conservation. Developing and maintaining strategic partnerships, including negotiation, contract management, and relationship stewardship. Contributing to leadership planning and strategy development within the Natural Ecosystems team, including annual budgeting and organisational alignment.
