The role ALS Geochemistry in Malaga is seeking Senior Laboratory Assistants to join our Spectroscopy team, which is committed to exceeding customer expectations by delivering high-quality results on time. This is a full-time position, where you will be primarily responsible for the operation and calibration of ICPMS, ICPOES and/or AAS instrumentation. The role will initially be on day shift during the training period; however, the successful candidate is expected to be available for a weekly rotating roster that includes day and afternoon shifts, as well as occasional weekend work. The day to day: The successful applicants will undertake a range of duties, including the following: Analysis of samples using ICPMS, ICPOES and/or AAS instrumentation. Perform instrument/equipment calibration and maintenance as required Troubleshooting of instrument and quality issues Calibration of standards and instrument QC solutions Reviewing QC and data results Ensuring that client turnaround times are met Once training is complete, be able to work autonomously Other duties as the role progresses The essentials A tertiary qualification or Diploma in a Chemistry related field is preferred Graduates are encouraged to apply Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain focus Previous or similar instrumentation experience is desirable Be able to work within a team environment Be able to multi-task and produce accurate results Be willing to work shift work Working at ALS The ALS team is a diverse and dedicated community united by our passion to make a difference in the world.
