The role The Geochemistry Division in Malaga is seeking a Laboratory Technician to become part of a team that strives to exceed customer expectations by delivering quality results on time. The role will be Full Time with the primary responsibilities being the operation ICPMS instrumentation. The expectation is that the successful candidate will be available for a weekly rotating shift roster that can involve days, afternoons, nights and occasional weekend work after the completion of training. The day to day The successful applicants will undertake a range of duties, including the following: Analysis of geochemical samples using ICPMS instrumentation Perform instrument/equipment calibration and maintenance as required Troubleshooting of instrument/quality issues Calibration and testing of standards and instrument QC solutions QC raw data review of results Ensuring that client turnaround times are met Once training is complete, be able to work autonomously Other duties as the role progresses The essentials The successful candidate will possess the following skills and abilities: A tertiary qualification or Diploma in a chemistry-related field is preferred Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain focus Previous or similar instrumentation experience is desirable Be able to work within a team environment Be able to multitask and produce accurate results Be willing to work shift work Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
