About the role: The Regional Cost Planning and Estimating Manager is responsible for supervising and coordinating RBU cost planning staff and operations, driving implementation and guiding the delivery of cost planning procedures and processes to ensure compliance and alignment with organisational objectives. The role ensures the delivery of accurate, timely, and strategic cost advice throughout the project lifecycle from feasibility through to final account. The requirement of an individual who has built relationships with clients, partners, external consultants, subcontractors and can demonstrate natural leadership ability. Your responsibilities include but are not limited to: Supervise and manage RBU cost planning team and activities, including evaluating the work of analysts and overseeing less experienced staff, mentoring and supporting team members and providing appropriate training and feedback to develop internal capabilities and ensure that staff are adequately resourced to perform Implement, monitor and execute cost planning activities and programs and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure delivery of cost planning outcomes Coordinate cost planning reviews to record and inform decision making and to ensure ongoing compliance with reporting requirements; reviewing of all RBU Cost Plans and estimates within delegated LOA’s prior to submission Maintain current knowledge of cost planning developments and requirements, providing specialised subject matter knowledge and supervising application of cost planning methods, techniques and strategies to provide technical and administrative guidance to team members and LL management Understand local market conditions with regards to applicable rates, subcontractors and competitors; maintain genuine relationships with key subcontractors to source reliable market pricing Fully accountable for all cost planning and estimating within the Regional Business Unit (RBU) from conversion through to delivery Actively engage and provide support to the Strategic Business Units (SBU’s) as required Promote Digital technologies through cost planning Encourage and promote performance reviews and development discussions with team members to actively plan key resource sessions for future leadership Establish and maintain a RBU-specific historical escalation forecasting cost model. Ensure assistance is available for delivery teams with significant Head Contract variations as required; regularly attend Project Reviews to understand the actual costs and receive feedback. To be successful you will need: Relevant tertiary qualifications in a related technical discipline, combined with appropriate subject matter knowledge, demonstrable experience with developed people manager skills.
