The Organisation The Catholic Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn Education Limited (CACGEL) is a not-for-profit organisation that oversees 56 schools, nine early learning centres, three school age care services, and a central Catholic Education Office in Forrest, ACT. With over 23,000 students and more than 4,000 employees across the ACT and NSW, CACGEL is committed to delivering high-quality, affordable Catholic education in line with the Archdiocese’s evangelising mission. The Role Reporting directly to the Executive Director and through them to the Board, and as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, as well as managing a team of over 35 staff, the Chief Financial Officer will lead the organisation’s strategic: financial planning, budgeting, management and reporting; capital planning and facilities management; and risk management The Chief Financial Officer will also be a key member of the Finance and Infrastructure and Audit and Risk Committees. About You The successful candidate will be CA/CPA qualified and have proven experience and successes as a strategic CFO in a large and complex organisation. Experience within a regulated environment is highly desirable. You will have outstanding communication and stakeholder engagement skills being able to build and maintain strong relationships with various internal and external stakeholders, collaborators and partners. You will also be an exceptional leader, being able to build the capability of your individual team members as well as the function as a whole. Whilst being of the Catholic faith is a preferred attribute for this role, it is not a mandatory requirement. You must, however, have genuine respect for the Catholic ethos, mission, and values of the organisation, and reflect these in the performance of your duties.
