The Role The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) ensures the financial sustainability, regulatory integrity, and strategic agility needed to support rapid growth and innovation in this highly regulated and competitive sector. The CFO will lead the financial transformation of the organization, drive strategic growth to double revenue year-on-year, elevate the finance function from operational to strategic, and foster a culture of commercial acumen within the team. You will serve as a strategic partner to the executive team, translating financial insights into business opportunities, aligning resources with strategic priorities, and ensuring the organization can deliver high-impact clinical research outcomes at scale. Key Responsibilities Lead the ongoing financial growth of the company, partnering with management to meet profitability targets. Support the Group CFO with board reporting, strategic projects, and ad hoc queries. Enhance and drive finance function performance aligned with business growth and professionalism. Oversee budgeting and forecasting, including monthly reporting and analysis of business drivers. Manage month-end processes, including P&L and balance sheet reviews and reconciliations, in collaboration with the finance team. Ensure timely delivery of quarterly and annual statutory reports. Maintain compliance with financial regulations, including ATO reporting and GST. Build and lead a high-performing finance team. Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO and Group CFO on financial and business matters. To succeed, you must have proven experience in Financial Operations, Leadership and Staff Management, Regulatory and Quality Assurance, Business and Strategic Support, Board Reporting, and Process Improvement. You should be centered, driven, and analytical, with effective delegation skills and the ability to inspire your team. Your capacity to advocate for change and implement strategies will help shape the company's future. Skills and Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; a Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA) is preferred. Extensive experience in financial management, ideally with at least 5 years as a CFO in the life sciences sector. Strong understanding of clinical trial operations, regulatory requirements, and financial management in a clinical research setting is preferred. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint. Proven ability to lead and develop teams, manage cross-functional projects, and drive organizational change.
