Position Overview We are seeking a passionate and hands-on Educational Leader & Assistant Director to join our vibrant Merrylands service. This dual-role position is based on the floor, working directly with children, educators, and families to deliver high-quality early learning experiences. As an Educational Leader, you will mentor and support educators, guide curriculum implementation, and ensure best-practice educational outcomes for every child. As Assistant Director, you will assist in the day-to-day operations of the service, supporting the Centre Director with staff management, compliance, and fostering a positive, inclusive environment. Responsibilities Lead and inspire a team of educators, fostering collaboration, professional growth, and a high-performing culture on the floor. Work alongside educators to mentor, support, and model best-practice early childhood education. Oversee day-to-day operations, including staffing, budgets, resources, and compliance, ensuring smooth centre management. Develop and deliver engaging, holistic learning programs that support children’s growth, curiosity, and development. Prioritise health, safety, and wellbeing, creating a nurturing and inclusive environment for every child. Build strong relationships with families and the community, promoting involvement and the centre’s values. Qualifications and Skills Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (or ACECQA-approved equivalent) At least 6 months’ experience as an Educational Leader or in a leadership role Valid Working with Children Check Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma, and Anaphylaxis certifications Child Protection training/certificate Experience or strong interest in leadership and management pathways Commitment to continuous learning and professional development Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
