Eden Ritchie Recruitment are seeking a Principal Policy Officer to join a major infrastructure reform program within a large Queensland Government department. This role will support the first tranche of the Contractor Management Improvement (CMI) Program, a high-profile initiative aimed at enhancing contractor management practices across building, construction, and maintenance services. Rate: Circa $85 per hour super Location: Brisbane CBD Contract Length: 9 months with possible extension Key responsibilities include: Analysing current contractor management practices to identify challenges and risks. Developing policy guidance, procedures, and operational tools for safer, more effective contractor management. Coordinating working groups and workshops to inform and test policy approaches. Collaborating across divisions to ensure practical and embedded policies. Preparing high-quality written materials including briefings, internal papers, and implementation tools. Tracking and monitoring reform progress, providing recommendations as required. To be successful you will have: Experience in business improvement or transformation, ideally in a government infrastructure environment. Knowledge of infrastructure contract management or procurement. Skills in risk and safety management within infrastructure. Proven ability to work with diverse stakeholders and manage competing priorities. Strong problem-solving, communication, and facilitation skills.
