You’ll help drive smarter asset management and enhance the long-term servicing, planning and governance of infrastructure projects across the Department of Education. About the Roles We are hiring two experienced Senior Facilities Services Officers to support the Service Maintenance Program within the Infrastructure Services Division (ISD). These long-term contract roles offer a unique opportunity to contribute to high-impact projects that support safe and efficient learning environments in schools across Queensland. Role 1: Transition & Registration of Plant & Equipment (P&E) Support the effective transition of assets from project handover into long-term servicing. Focus on mitigating safety and regulatory risks, improving governance, and establishing consistent frameworks for P&E registration and maintenance handover. Role 2: Critical Plant Assessment & Prioritisation Collect, assess and prioritise condition data for critical infrastructure. Provide data-driven recommendations, analyse condition reports, and support project planning to address high-risk plant assets across the school network. Key Responsibilities Include For both roles: Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., QBuild) to identify risks and resolve issues; Maintain and manage documentation, data registers, and reporting frameworks; Prepare briefings, monthly reports and risk assessments for executive review; Support project meetings and working groups across infrastructure priorities; and Perform key SAP functions, including raising POs and notifications. Role-specific: Transition & Registration Officer Develop and implement processes for P&E transition and land / property handover; Coordinate scoping of grounds maintenance responsibilities for new sites; Provide documentation for recourse investigations related to risk exposure; and Recommend updates to design standards based on identified systemic trends. Critical Plant Officer Review and validate condition assessment data for plant assets; Analyse prior servicing reports to verify critical risks and conditions; and Contribute to prioritisation of infrastructure upgrades or interventions. What We’re Looking For We’re seeking proactive, analytical professionals who thrive in a project-focused, multi-stakeholder environment. You will ideally bring: Experience in facilities, asset or infrastructure management (education sector experience is a bonus but not essential); Strong documentation and reporting skills (briefings, registers, reports); Understanding of service maintenance, P&E life cycles, or design and safety standards; Stakeholder engagement skills across operational and delivery teams; and Experience working with SAP and/or SharePoint highly regarded.
