Since our re-entry into the State’s workers compensation scheme in 2023, this function has been on a transformative journey. As the Operations Manager - Technical and Specialist, you will report to the General Manager NSW, and become a vital part of our Senior Leadership Team. Your role will be to provide strategic direction, ensuring excellence in compliance, performance, culture, and financial targets. This is your chance to leverage your leadership experience within the Scheme and embrace a new challenge that will have a significant impact on our service offerings to injured workers and clients. You will play a pivotal role in driving further expansion and transformation, positioning us as market leaders with a focus on continuous growth. How you'll make an impact Talent Development: Develop and implement talent plans to ensure the right people are in the right place at the right time to meet strategic operational needs. Performance Management: Manage employee performance by establishing clear goals and expectations, tracking progress, providing timely feedback, and addressing performance deficiencies promptly. Leadership and Team Management: Lead the 4 specialist hubs within the operation, including Technical Support, Return to Work, Injury Management, and Mental Health; Strategic Planning: Design, develop, and implement strategic plans that support the business vision and goals, and effectively communicate these plans to staff; Operational Excellence: Establish and maintain a departmental structure that supports superior operational performance for NSW injured workers and employers; Continuous Improvement: Drive a continuous improvement approach to identify efficiency opportunities and technological enhancements that deliver improved outcomes and customer experiences; Legislative Support: Support the effective implementation of any NSW legislative reform; Risk Management: Actively identify and mitigate key business risks within the business unit; Financial Management: Develop and successfully manage budgets and forecasts. About you Significant leadership experience within the New South Wales workers compensation legislative environment; Proven success in leading teams, driving engagement, and building capabilities collaboratively. Deep understanding of claims management schemes and practices; Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead by example and communicate at all organizational levels; Passion for operational excellence; Experience in managing performance through metrics; Strategic mindset and collaborative spirit; Resilient attitude; Experience in managing outsourced supply arrangements; Tertiary qualifications in Business, Personal Injury, or related fields are highly regarded.
