About The Role: The Technology department is responsible for all facets of IT and Tech support as well as the management and facilitation of Strategic technology projects. We are continually enhancing our technology products and methodologies to generate powerful insights for our customers and improve internal operational. We are currently in a phased transformation program requiring the delivery of foundational technology initiatives for the delivery of cloud and on prem based data workflows as well as embarking upon broader whole-of-business transformation projects. To support this journey, we are establishing a centralised Project Management Office (PMO) under the leadership of the Head of Information Technology (IT). Reporting into the Head of IT, as the Head of PMO, you will be responsible for building and leading the PMO function, providing management oversight across the transformation portfolio, and ensuring project excellence and alignment to business objectives. A key responsibility of this role is to take over the leadership and coordination of existing project managers, business analysts, and data-focused delivery teams within IT and evolve their capability and alignment under a unified framework. We are looking for a hands on PMO, able to lead by example and comfortable working within commercial realities of a private organisation. Key Responsibilities: PMO Establishment and Leadership Establish and lead a centralised PMO within the IT portfolio, scalable to support broader business transformation. Develop and implement enterprise-wide project management methodologies, standards, and project management tools. Integrate and lead existing project managers and business analysts currently embedded within the IT team, setting clear goals, roles, and performance expectations. Phase 1: Technology Transformation Delivery Provide end-to-end delivery oversight for critical technology programs including cloud adoption, legacy system replacement, cybersecurity uplift, digital platform modernisation and datalake/pipeline analysis and delivery. Working through the Head of IT and technology teams, ensure timely, effective, and strategic execution of IT initiatives. Manage project risks, interdependencies, and stakeholder engagement to maintain delivery momentum and alignment with business needs. Phase 2: Whole-of-Business Transformation At the direction of the Executive, expand the PMO's responsibilities to encompass enterprise-wide transformation across all business units, bringing consistency in project management methodology and tooling as required. Lead and coordinate all executive strategic initiatives in the transformation portfolio to ensure strategic alignment, value delivery, and organisational readiness. Ensure data transformation efforts drive measurable business value, improved decision-making, regulatory compliance, and a scalable data foundation for the future. Champion a data-driven culture by promoting collaboration across IT, data, and business functions, and by supporting business adoption of modern data practices. Governance, Reporting & Stakeholder Engagement Implement robust governance frameworks for project prioritisation, security and risk management, status tracking, and executive reporting. Act as a key liaison between IT and the wider business to ensure project transparency, business engagement, and transformation alignment. Provide regular, clear, and insightful reports to the Head of IT and executive sponsors on delivery health and strategic outcomes. Capability Development & Continuous Improvement Uplift internal project, change, and data delivery capability through coaching, mentorship, and formal development pathways. Promote a culture of accountability, delivery excellence, and continuous improvement across PMO and project functions. Embed lessons learned and best practices into organisational project maturity. About You: Ideally, your skills and experience should include: 10 years of experience in project, program, or portfolio management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership capacity. Bachelor's degree or relevant Tertiary qualification and/or relevant experience. Certifications in project (PMP, PRINCE2), change (Prosci), and/or agile delivery (Scrum, SAFe). Demonstrated success establishing or leading a PMO function across both technology and business transformation environments. Proven experience managing or integrating project managers, business analysts, and/or data delivery teams. Strong understanding of enterprise IT delivery, digital transformation, and data maturity journeys. Demonstrate experience of project delivery methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid) and portfolio management tools. Strong stakeholder engagement, strategic thinking, and communication skills. A team player with a positive attitude, able to work with a variety of people collaboratively. Ability to understand and discuss technical concepts.
