Your Role You will coordinate the medical education programs in the Emergency Department under the guidance of consultant staff, delivering education and teaching to Resident and Registrars. You will develop skills as an educator in simulation design, events managing and debriefing multidisciplinary in situ simulations You will have the opportunity to run monthly immersive multidisciplinary simulations at the nearby Curtin Sim Lab. You will have a weekly education curriculum to assist your development as a Medical Education and Simulation Registrar. This role is offered as a part-time .5FTE (40 hours per fortnight) but can be combined with a Senior Registrar Emergency Role to be fulltime. Our Emergency Department 48-bedded department which commenced service in November 2015 77,000 presentations per year with an admission rate of approximately 30% FACEM-lead team-based care Excellent, varied case-mix providing a broad clinical experience. This includes Paediatrics (approximately 17 % of presentation), Obstetrics & Gynaecology and Stroke Service. The Position Assist in preparing and facilitating with the various medical education programs at all levels (medical student, RMO, Registrar, ACEM exam preparation and courses). Undertake professional development in the medical education field with a prescribed university course or agreed alternative. Undertake at least one project to improve education quality within the Emergency Department. Report to a designated medical education supervisor regularly to discuss progress. Keep a logbook of all education duties undertaken for the term period. Provide clinical supervision and teaching to Registrar, Resident Medical Officers, Interns and medical students Provide clinical supervision and teaching to junior staff. Commit to a team approach in the delivery of care, working closely with nursing staff, allied health professions, members of pastoral care services, and other clinicians both onsite and offsite. You will have a demonstrated clinical and procedural experience in an equivalent ED setting and be an advanced ACEM trainee or equivalent.
