About the role We are currently accepting applications for the position of Senior Specialist Network Regulation to join the team for a fixed term period of up to two years. This role can be based anywhere within Essential Energy’s operational footprint . The Senior Specialist Network Regulation is responsible for preparing the regulatory proposal and managing the regulatory determination process for major projects and providing advice to the business on the economic regulatory aspects of major determinations, as relevant. The role is responsible for working with key business units and staff to embed a business-as-usual approach to maintaining the data and documents required to complete project regulatory submissions. Some key position responsibilities will include: Develop clear and compelling regulatory proposals to the AER that are aligned to Essential Energy’s strategy, vision and purpose. Fostering collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality submissions and reports. Improve shareholder value by contributing to the development and regular update of Essential Energy’s regulatory strategic plan and ensure the plan is embedded within regulatory submissions. Identify, model and advise on opportunities for Essential Energy to respond to regulatory incentives through regulatory determinations and recommend appropriate strategy and actions to realise these opportunities. About you You are a seasoned professional with deep expertise in the regulated energy industry, particularly electricity distribution. With a strong grasp of legislative, regulatory, and policy frameworks, you bring strategic insight and analytical rigor to complex regulatory challenges. Your leadership skills enable you to guide teams and facilitate productive forums, while your ability to communicate intricate concepts clearly—both visually and in writing—ensures alignment across stakeholders. You’re highly skilled in economic modelling, stakeholder engagement, and business systems, and you thrive in dynamic environments where problem-solving, adaptability, and collaboration are key to success. Required Qualifications Bachelor Degree in Economics, Accounting, Finance or Commerce, or demonstrated capability through past employment experience and/or relevant qualifications.
