About the Role A well-established construction and flooring contractor is seeking a proactive Estimator to join their growing Melbourne team. With a reputation built on quality, expertise, and innovation, this company partners with Tier 1 builders and leading contractors across a diverse range of projects, from boutique developments to large-scale commercial builds, with values ranging from $50K to $2M. This hybrid role combines estimating, tendering, and contract support, offering a unique opportunity to shape project outcomes while contributing to business growth. Key Responsibilities Tendering & Estimation: Prepare accurate cost estimates and detailed breakdowns for tender submissions. Project Costing: Analyse drawings, specifications, and project requirements to prepare cost plans and budgets. Supplier & Subcontractor Management: Obtain and review quotes, negotiate pricing, and build strong supplier relationships. Commercial & Contract Support: Assist with contract administration, variations, claims, and progress payments. Risk & Compliance: Identify potential cost risks and ensure compliance with industry standards and client requirements. Stakeholder Coordination: Work with clients, project managers, and contractors to align expectations and ensure smooth handover from estimating to delivery. Continuous Improvement: Review completed projects to refine pricing accuracy and improve future estimating processes. Essential Skills & Experience Qualifications: Diploma in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Project Management, or related field. Industry Experience: Previous experience in estimating within construction, flooring, or concrete services is highly desirable. Technical Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite and Simpro, particularly Excel and Project. Analytical Skills: High attention to detail with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications. Commercial Acumen: Strong understanding of contractual obligations, financial tracking, and risk management.
