Who are we looking for? We are currently looking for a highly experienced and disciplined Store Person to join our team in Cairns, Queensland . Your role In this role, your key responsibilities will include: Ensure effective delivery of assigned store duties to support overall daily operations. Process and control parts and materials in line with applicable aviation regulations and company procedures. Organize and dispatch items on time to meet freight collection deadlines. Receive and process incoming goods promptly and accurately. Distribute items appropriately to stock or to fulfill material requisitions. Oversee the ordering, storage, and distribution of materials in accordance with company policies. Track and manage stock across the hangar store and free issue inventory. Coordinate the return of core exchange units to suppliers within agreed timeframes to avoid additional fees. Handle customer-owned inventory, including receiving, storing, and issuing materials. Manage subcontracted repair orders to ensure minimal turnaround times. Maintain accurate records of all parts and materials stored or issued from the facility. Support and promote workplace health & safety, environmental standards, and aviation safety procedures. Keep the store environment clean, well-organized, and professional. Proactively support hangar operations and respond to customer requirements. Identify and manage quarantine items according to company procedures. Collaborate with the Purchasing Officer to maintain appropriate stock levels in line with policy. The essential requirements Previous experience in aviation stores or a similar warehouse/logistics role (aviation industry preferred). Strong communication skills—both written and verbal—and proficient with computer systems. Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and follow detailed procedures. Proactive and capable of resolving supply or inventory issues with initiative. Understanding of regulatory requirements for aircraft parts control—or the ability to quickly learn based on similar industry experience. Familiarity with packaging and shipping standards, including dangerous goods regulations. Forklift licence (desirable). Reliable, self-motivated, and results-driven. Strong attention to detail with solid planning and organizational skills. Committed to maintaining safety, compliance, and continuous improvement in the workplace. Valid work visa; Red ASIC card (or ability to obtain); and, Current Australian licences to operate vehicles/machines.
