Who are we looking for? We are currently looking for a highly experienced and disciplined Purchasing Officer to join our team in Cairns, Queensland . Your role In this role, your key responsibilities will include: Manage end-to-end purchasing, from order placement to delivery, in line with company policies. Communicate with internal teams and suppliers to ensure expectations, timelines, and requirements are met. Maintain inventory levels to meet demand while minimizing cost and excess stock. Respond promptly to urgent and AOG requests, ensuring fast turnaround and accurate quoting. Source competitive suppliers, maintain purchasing records, and manage vendor relationships. Liaise with freight forwarders and customs for inbound deliveries and clearances. Reconcile purchase orders, invoices, and credit card transactions. Organize returns, replacements, and support warranty processes when needed. Ensure safe and compliant handling of company and customer-owned materials. Support stock control through regular variance checks and stocktakes. The essential requirements Experience in purchasing or logistics, preferably in aviation or a similar industry. Knowledge of aircraft materials and supply chain practices. Strong communication and coordination skills. Familiarity with ERP systems, Microsoft Excel, and Outlook. Understanding of dangerous goods handling (DG certification is a plus). Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently. Valid work visa; and Red ASIC card (or ability to obtain).
