At Smart Steel Frames, we seek an operations-focused leader to direct our workshop and site activities, streamline production, and assure industry-leading project outcomes. You will be the operational linchpin: managing workflow from planning through delivery, ensuring every frame meets our standards for safety, quality, and efficiency. What You'll Be Doing Overseeing day-to-day workshop and site operations to ensure projects are delivered efficiently on time, and to the highest standard. Managing and continuously improving production schedules, workflow processes, and resource allocation. Coordinating material procurement, inventory management, and supply chain logistics to guarantee timely, cost-effective project delivery. Driving and embedding WHS compliance and a proactive safety culture across all operations. Leading, coaching, and developing production, workshop, and site teams, fostering engagement and high performance. Implementing process improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing productivity, quality, and cost control. Ensuring clear, structured communication between workshop, site crews, suppliers, and clients, acting as the key operational interface. Overseeing quality control checks and resolving technical or operational issues as they arise. Supporting project delivery by monitoring budgets, tracking workflow milestones, and reporting on operational KPIs. Contributing to estimating and tendering as required, providing operational insights to support costings and project feasibility. What You Bring Demonstrated experience in operations, production, or site management within structural steel, prefabrication, or construction environments. Cert IV or Diploma in Building & Construction (or equivalent operational/engineering qualification). Strong leadership, people management, and coaching skills; proven ability to drive team engagement and results. Sound knowledge of WHS systems, NCC/AS-NZS standards, and operational compliance in a manufacturing or construction setting. Experience implementing process improvements and digital/lean workflows. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills; practical mindset with exceptional attention to detail. Advanced proficiency in operational software and digital tools (scheduling, inventory, KPIs); familiarity with estimating software advantageous.
