San Miguel aims to transform the lives of young parents and their children by improving their safety, wellbeing and life prospects. Parents and children receive support from a multi-disciplinary team through a combination of on-site and community-based interventions that ensure children are engaged in safe, developmentally appropriate activities and their parents are supported to set and pursue family and personal goals. After a recent review of the San Miguel model, some exciting opportunities have become available to ensure we can continue to deliver this vital program to a targeted cohort now and into the future. We have permanent part time and casual opportunities for experienced Residential Support Officers. The Residential Support Officer provides practical and emotional support to young parents and their children, ensuring a safe and supportive community. The role involves direct engagement with residents, assisting with daily activities, child minding, transportation, site maintenance and crisis response. Your role will include: • provide practical support to residents including meal preparation, child feeding, settling and sleep routines • child minding as required • assist young parents in managing independent living and parenting responsibilities • offer guidance and support during crisis situations • client transportation • set up and prepare units for new residents and provide assistance to maintain cleanliness of units and common areas what we are looking for With a flexible and mature approach to work, you can work independently as well as part of a team and understand how to build relationships with a wide range of people. You will be creative and collaborative by nature and will enjoy working through a different approach to each client and situation and will thrive in a dynamic environment where no two days are the same!
