This role is ideal for an engineer who cares about building robust, secure software, enjoys solving technical problems, and values product-driven thinking, not just writing code. You’ll be part of a small, collaborative team where technical voices are heard, good engineering practices are respected. You’re trusted to manage your own time and responsibilities, no micromanagement here. What Your Days Will Look Like:Build software that runs in real-world environments, supporting systems that Cities rely on daily.Work on building secure, scalable software including web apps, mobile apps, APIs, and backend services for real-world systems deployed both in the cloud and on-premises.Work on complex system logic, including decision trees, rule engines, and configurable workflows to handle real-world scenarios.Develop full-stack features, from backend logic to frontend UI, creating practical, user-friendly solutions.Apply strong security, privacy, and DevSecOps practices across everything you build.Automate software delivery and infrastructure using CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC), making deployments fast and reliable.You're encouraged to write unit tests, automated tests, and regression tests as part of your work, and be comfortable working across different programming languages.Collaborate with product and engineering teams to design system architecture, tackle technical problems, and deliver robust, high-performance software.Continuously work on improving system stability, performance, and observability through automation and smart monitoring.Stay hands-on with modern software tools, AI-assisted development techniques, and cloud technologies, always learning and experimenting with better ways to build software.
