The Role: Reporting to the Director, Corporate Services, this is a key leadership position responsible for aligning HR practices with strategic goals and supporting a high-performing, values-led culture. You will manage the full employee lifecycle, lead HR compliance, IR & ER, and champion initiatives in employee engagement, development, and workforce planning. This role will also lead and continuously improve workplace health and safety practices across the organisation. Key Responsibilities: Manage end-to-end recruitment, onboarding, contracts and employee lifecycle processes Lead the design, implementation, and review of HR policies, procedures, and best practice frameworks Oversee compliance with workplace laws, WHS, anti-discrimination, and employment standards Drive culture, engagement, performance, and workforce development initiatives Coach and support managers on people management, feedback, and performance planning Maintain ER/IR and HR reporting, including workforce metrics, staffing forecasts, and leave management Lead HR projects that respond to business needs and organisational change Cultivate strong working relationships across teams and support a collaborative environment About you: A minimum of 5 years’ experience leading/managing HR functions Relevant tertiary qualifications in Human Resource Management or related field Strong understanding of contemporary HR practices and employment legislation Proven experience in policy development, employee relations, and HR compliance Experience with HR Information Systems (HRIS) implementation and administration Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment A proactive, relationship-driven and solutions-focused mindset Knowledge of the Australian Vocational Education and Training (VET) system The Offer: The HR Manager position is offered on a permanent, full-time basis at a salary of circa $135K plus superannuation. Located in the Melbourne CBD (or Canberra) with hybrid working available.
