Job Title: Senior Hardware and Software Test Engineer Location: Melbourne, Australia Salary: Competitive salary package Work Set-up: Full-time, On-site (with flexible working hours) About the Role: As a Senior Hardware and Software Test Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the end-to-end testing lifecycle of advanced Energy Storage Systems and PV inverters. This role is hands-on, covering everything from planning and executing tests to performing detailed reliability and root cause analysis. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams—locally and offshore—ensuring products meet the highest standards of performance and safety. Key Responsibilities: Lead the definition and execution of test strategies (BVT, UAT, Regression). Design, manage, and conduct both manual and automated test procedures. Oversee coordination with offshore testing teams for seamless execution. Manage test environments, documentation, and requirements tracking. Plan and lead hardware/software testing for ESS, including sign-off. Conduct reliability and HIL testing, analyze test data, and resolve issues. Collaborate with hardware and software engineers to optimize performance. Support testing during the development of new ESS and PV inverter products. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or related field. 5 years of experience in hardware/software/reliability testing, including cloud or mobile applications. Certified in ISTQB, CSTE, or CSQE. Strong scripting skills (e.g., Python, Perl, LabView). Experience in embedded systems and hands-on lab testing. Familiar with Agile, Waterfall, and V-Model methodologies. Excellent technical documentation and communication skills. Desirable Skills: Experience with PV inverters, ESS, BMS, and high-voltage systems. Knowledge of relevant safety standards (UL, IEC, ISO, AS/NZ). Proficiency in root cause analysis, DFMEA, and UX testing. Embedded C/C++ programming and microcontroller experience (STM32, ESP32).
