We are seeking an experienced Privacy Officer to support Eightcap’s adherence to all applicable data privacy obligations, including: legal and regulatory requirements, identifying risks, and contributing to the development of a robust privacy framework. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data privacy, with a proven ability to deliver results in a fast-paced, high-performance environment. This role plays a key part in driving our mission to provide an exceptional experience to both our clients and team. Responsibilities: Regulatory Compliance Monitoring Assist in the implementation and monitoring of privacy related compliance programs to ensure adherence to applicable regulations and group policies, including the GDPR, DORA, Australian Privacy Act and Principles and foreign equivalents Conduct regular audits and review of internal processes to assess compliance with region-specific privacy requirements Process and provide guidance to staff about data subject right requests under the applicable privacy regulations Privacy Risk Identification and Mitigation Identify potential areas of non-compliance or compliance risks and provide practical advice for mitigation Monitor regulatory amendments and advise the business on necessary changes to policies and practices Support the development and implementation of risk management strategies and treatment plans to mitigate exposure Compliance Documentation and Reporting Lead the preparation of privacy specific documentation and reports, including Records of Processing Activities (RoPAs), Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), Data Subject Right Request Records and any other records required to comply with privacy requirements Maintain accurate records of privacy compliance activities, audits and risk-based assessments Preparation of governance committee papers to identify and explain privacy related risks Training and Awareness Lead the development of region-specific privacy training programs and materials to educate staff on privacy matters Foster a culture of compliance across the company by promoting awareness of privacy obligations Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement Assist in-region Data Protection Officers (DPOs) and Privacy Officers in managing and responding to regulatory inquires or audits Work with our security team and risk committee to facilitate the delivery of a compliant privacy framework Serve as the main point of contact for privacy related enquiries from internal and external stakeholders Policy Procedure and Support Support the creation and review of compliance policies and procedures, including the implementation of appropriate data processing and transfer agreements, binding corporate rules and intra-group data sharing arrangements Ensure that all company practices reflect the latest regulatory requirements and best practices Requirements Essential: Degree in law, business, or a related field Previous experience in a privacy or privacy-adjacent role (e.g. compliance, risk management or data governance) Strong understanding of the GDPR, DORA and Australian Privacy Requirements Ability to assess privacy risks and implement and manage mitigation strategies Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate compliance matters to various stakeholders High attention to detail and strong organisational skills Desired: Professional certifications related to privacy such as CCEP, CIPP or CIPM Experience with regulatory reporting and managing audits Familiarity with global regulatory frameworks and cross-border privacy issues Benefits Why Eightcap?
