Your New Role In this initial 12-month contract you will be reporting to the Senior Manager Project Assurance. You will play a key role to ensure the effective governance and delivery of the projects within the Fund. This position will work across all areas of the Fund to support project delivery by providing assurance services such as project establishment guidance, best practice governance, Project Health Checks and Stage Gate Reviews. To be successful you will have a background within a similar project assurance / audit function, including sound understanding of project delivery methodologies and proven experience in the provision of project assurance activities. You will be an experienced project professional with great stakeholder skills who can influence and guide others to support project delivery uplift. Key duties include but are not limited to; Act as a trusted advisor to Project Sponsors and Delivery teams, offering guidance and challenge to projects where needed. Maintenance of the Fund’s Project Delivery Framework, working with the Practice Senior Managers (from the Business Analysis, Change Management and Project Management groups) to manage the upkeep and continuously improve the Project Delivery Framework. Support the development of an annual project assurance plan (in conjunction with Delivery team leadership) based on the Fund-wide project portfolio, to ensure a suitable level of assurance activities are conducted across the portfolio. Nurture and maintain internal relationships across all levels of the Fund, enabling you to collaborate effectively with sponsors to ensure that their projects are successful. Ad-hoc participation in Project Steering Committees to ensure that effective governance is taking place within these forums in the form of meaningful discussions on projects’ status, delivery/delivered risks, project issues and mitigation plans, including “path to green” for those initiatives that are at risk. Operate and make decisions in line with the Fund’s Policies, Standards, Procedures, Decision Registers and the delegated authorities. Ensure relevant legislative and organisational requirements are met by keeping up to date on all key changes to relevant regulations that impacts project delivery. What You’ll Need Tertiary degree (or equivalent) in project management, risk management, business, finance, or IT from a recognised tertiary institution. Certification in project management methodologies (preferably with Agile, PMP, MSP, PRINCE2, PMBOK, or a similar certification). 7 years’ experience in professional services, preferably in superannuation, insurance, banking & finance or consultancy. 3 years’ experience in a similar role, responsible for the provision of assurance or audit services with proven ability to deliver outcomes to agreed timelines, facilitate effective working relationships and communication with team members and internal and external stakeholders. Strong background and knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices Experience in the initiation of new projects and how to set up effective governance. Demonstrated ability to overcome resistance to change and achieve compliance with standards, practices and quality expectations.
