About the Role The Senior Advisor – Grants and Tenders is a strategic and proactive role that directly contributes to the purpose and remit of the Social Impacts and Outcomes Team and wider Governance and Performance Outcomes Directorate. You are responsible for building, implementing and maintaining a strategic, connected, successful and agile approach to grants and tenders. This role is purposed to enable Wesley Mission Queensland (WMQ) to effectively articulate its market leading position in grants and tender applications and secure and develop long-term funding streams and investment opportunities in partnership with subject matter experts from across WMQ. Critical elements to success will include working proactively to build and add value to stakeholder relationships across WMQ, within their own established external networks and understanding and leveraging the existing networks across WMQ. Key Role Accountabilities: Develop and execute a grants and tenders strategy and associated infrastructure to support the achievement of key organisational goals and objectives, and work with directorates across WMQ to support its implementation and continuing relevance. Lead the strategic, timely and high-quality submission of grants and tender applications to secure funding and other resourcing necessary for WMQ’s operations. Develop, maintain and mobilise internal and external networks to proactively identify, respond to and develop future funding opportunities across all divisions of WMQ. In consultation with the General Manager, Social Impact and Outcomes contribute to, implement and evaluate the success of tenders and grants applications across WMQ. In consultation with the General Manager, Social Impact and Outcomes, seek, coordinate and provide feedback on both successful and unsuccessful grants and tenders applications across WMQ, to support a continuous improvement approach. Promote cost effective grant/tender preparation across WMQ e.g. via use of a content bank to maximise efficiencies and support for other business areas. Proactively advance WMQ’s understanding of the expectations of government and other funders regarding grants and tender applications, project delivery and performance and acquittals. Write and/or coordinate accurate and complete grant and tender acquittal reports to meet funders’ requirements and expectations. Work with WMQ teams to advance our understanding of WMQ customers and stakeholders, including the social impacts and outcomes of our work and existing, prospective and emerging funding opportunities. Recommend and participate in planned introduction of new grants and tender strategies and partnering opportunities. Develop specialist knowledge of target revenue and funding segments, networks and opportunities. About You Minimum 3 years’ experience in writing grant and tender submission and applications Minimum 3 years’ experience in managing a grants and/or tenders function. Ability to project manage and deliver time-critical funding and tender applications. Demonstrated knowledge of the Queensland and Australian grants and tenders landscape and an ability to apply a strategic approach to pursuing grant opportunities Demonstrated established professional network relating to grant and tender opportunities. Highly developed interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, including strong networking and influencing skills, including the ability to effectively lead and manage diverse internal and external stakeholder requirements. Proven ability to work both independently and in a fast-paced small office team environment to meet deadlines.
